The Girl in Room 2A (1974)
Director:  William Rose
Where to get it: Amazon

A sadistic killer cult kidnaps and sacrifices beautiful women. A young girl, just paroled from prison, moves into a strange house and appears to be the cult’s next victim. The movie goes on showing stuff that I am sure was rather shocking got its time. We also lead up to the big mystery of just is going down in the room 2A! We have this film here for the first time on DVD and it being brought to you uncut! And I will tell you now the film it’s self looks great.

This movie shows the story of a poor girl who has been set free from prison only to end up in an even bigger mess. The back of the box name drops Hostel and I can sort of see why. I believe after watching this film you will see where it could have went on to inspire such films as Hostel, it seems at times to have the same tone. But this movie does deliver with gore and nudity. We even get a twist or two tossed in for good measure.

A movie like this makes for a good time if you are into seeing some pretty women torn to bits by various things. We even see such cool images like one dude take a leap out of a building. It might all sound a little silly, and it might be in a way. But when you take a look at the date (1974) it all makes it come together in a more entertaining manner to the viewer. The film might be remembered as a classic overall, but we can’t overlook the film’s influence on stuff that came later on. This DVD release is a great way to give it its due.
