Jason Bateman (Horrible Bosses) stars as Todd Howard, a Hamilton University freshman with a full athletic scholarship — only Todd has no idea why, since he’s far more interested in veterinary medicine than sports. But his boxing coach, Bobby Finstock, is very familiar with the Howard family secret and he’s hoping he can use it to his advantage. When the whole school — including Todd — finds out that he’s a werewolf with superhuman abilities, Todd’s popularity skyrockets and he becomes the big wolf on campus. But is his fame a gift? Or a curse? And can he keep it from getting in the way of the relationships he has with his best friends and girlfriend? Perhaps a little guidance from his professor (Kim Darby, True Grit), who has a secret of her own, may help Todd learn the biggest lesson of all.

Well, we have a good news/bad news scenario here. The good news is that Scream Factory released a Collector’s Edition of Teen Wolf Too on the same day as Teen Wolf and it goes great along side the original on display. The bad news is that Teen Wolf Too kinda sucks. After having the sequel and the returning role of Scott turned down by Michael J. Fox, Patrick Bateman steps in playing Scott’s cousin who is now heading off to college and is about to find out that he’s also got the wolf thing going on himself. He’s also a boxer and he’s also finding himself getting into a lot of the same teenage drama our main man, Scott, found himself getting into in the first film. Only this wolf isn’t half a likable even when he’s supposed to be. We have Scott’s Dad back, however, as well as Chubs who is now boxing instead of wrestling. The character of Styles is even back but he is now recast. By the time you hit the “Do You Love Me” dance number in this one you might find yourself reaching for that bottle of Jack Daniels because this one is a bit of a choir to get through if I am to be perfectly honest.

Ever seen a movie that has a great release but is a lemon of a film? That would be Scream Factory’s Collector’s Edition of Teen Wolf Too. The movie is as rotten as a glass of milk left out on the table over night but the release is a good one that has good extras that are more entertaining than the movie. The word was Fox didn’t want to go through putting the makeup and such on again to do a movie like this, but now having seen it myself, I feel like he probably just read the script and took a pass on it. I can’t say that I blame him on that, but the collector in us all and the matching covers for this and Teen Wolf will be forcing the most of us to buy Teen Wolf Too just for the collector’s sake and perhaps also for the extras.
