Learning from her previous mistakes, EeBee the Evil Bong is back and she’s stoner… er… stronger than ever. With Larnell, Sarah Leigh, Rabbit, Velicity and a lobotomized Gingerdead Man trapped in her dastardly web of weed, The Bong World, for good, she once more sets about her plan of world domination. This time, one toke at a time. EeBee has outsmarted everybody who has outsmarted her. She teleports our hesher heroes back to earth to sell her magic ganja. But our bevy of baked soldiers, with the help of Hambo, the Badass Dolls and tons of surprises, have plans of their own and wage full-on guerilla weedfare. It’s up to our dopes to figure out Eebee’s new rules and stop her before humanity goes up in smoke. In the end, will our waster warriors celebrate with a HIGH-5? Or will they be down low and too slow?

Evil Bong was on of the more recent Full Moon films to gain steam and become a full force franchise for them. Can’t say that I’ve ever loved the movies but they are usually harmless enough. Somewhere along the way they did a crossover with The Gingerdead Man and as we see here in the latest, Evil Bong: High-5, he’s still around. Not only that but he doesn’t seem very worried about killing folks now. He’s just wearing a karate outfit, smoking dope, and lusting over any and all women. I’ve never seen the last movie, but our leads are all stuck in “Bong World” or something. They want out but the Evil Bong herself cooks up a plan to send them back to earth to try to sell her dope and make a million dollars. They have one month to do it or she’ll kill the two female leads. No real danger is seen and we basically spend the movie with bad jokes and watching as weird customer after weird customer comes into their pot shop to score this super duper weed they are selling. If I were a stoner I’d probably enjoy it more than I did, but I’m not. So it was very much a hit and miss sorta film for me. It manages to get a laugh out of you here and there but I do miss the days when this franchise at least half-way pretended to be a horror franchise. It is all jokes, dope, and nudity here. No blood or anything of the sort.

Not that the original Evil Bong was anything you’d call a classic. But the tricking of stoners to smoke from the bong and then be transported away to another world and be killed was at least more along the lines of what Full Moon usually does with horror. This has just become a comedy now. It is more a less a teen stoner comedy without the teens. This has to have some audience out there or they’d not have made five of them and from the looks of the ending, six is coming as well. I just don’t know who the crowd is unless it is the stoner or teens demographic. Maybe kids who can’t see porn are having fun with some of the naked ladies they see on the screen here? I think The Gingerdead Man and whoever they got doing his voice by doing a funny Gary Busey impersonation is the best thing here by far. It makes me wish Full Moon would get him away from this franchise and have him go back to doing what that character does best. Maybe they can have him run into Dollman, Subspecies, Demonic Toys, Kill Joy, or even the puppets from Puppet Master. Until those days come I guess we’ll just have to settle for this. Which has a few moments but really isn’t my cup of tea from our friends over at Full Moon.
