The sole survivor from the first Cold Prey film arrives at a local hospital for medical attention following a massacre in which her friends were killed by a psychopath in the Norwegian mountains. But when she steps out of her bed and finds the hospital dark and silent without a living soul in sight it becomes clear that her nightmare is far from over…

The original Cold Prey was a whole lot of fun and a must see for anyone who loves Slasher films. Cold Prey II actually improves upon that by doing everything the first one did better and then adding new and improved elements into the story.  You might think you can guess where things might go, but they may just surprise you in a way getting to the end. And while we’ve grown use to the idea of having a “final girl”, this film gives us TWO female leads that are very strong and likable. I also think our gore and kills actually improve this time around as well, as this monster of a man smashes his way through a hospital on its last leg. At least this way they actually give us a good reason for the hospital not being that packed. It is always awesome when a film thinks these things out.

This film came out in its own country in 2008, but thanks to Shout Factory it is just now seeing a release here in the states. If you like horror that actually feels like you are seeing something different for a change with its fair share of jump scares and tense moments then you NEED to see this movie. I liked Cold Prey and I highly recommend it, but this is a sequel that goes above the original in quality and chaos. The films only real fault is having things get a little too “cute” and coincidental here and there. Look over that, the rest of what this movie brings to the table is awesome.
