I was a bit unsure what to expect heading into a movie with Nick Jonas as the star, but I gotta admit that the movie works regardless. Or at least it works enough. I don’t know if I’d say he is that good but enough elements including his hot female counterpart all come together to make a movie you can at least finish without issue. You might be left scratching your head a bit about some of the plot points and the ending but the movie was enjoyable enough for my taste even if the end result could be a bit cliche and forgettable to a point. It’s Summer time Nick Jonas is moving into a Summer home with his family and he spots his rich neighbors hot and younger wife right off the bat. He gets a job working on his boat and he notices the guy isn’t very nice to the wife who has also taken a notice of Jonas’ character. Things get steamy between the two and very secretive. If you’ve not read the box you’d probably expect the hot-headed husband to walk in on the two and that lead to the movie’s main plot but stuff happens and things take a whole other turn for the rest of the movie. I like that it wasn’t as by the book as I expected and what comes from it makes the movie more interesting even if things get done a bit too neatly in spots.

The very hot Isabel Lucas puts enough into her performance and puts enough of herself out there to probably not only get the movie the R-rating it has but to keep most people who dig women interested enough in this one not to turn it off before the movie reaches its twisty and turny ending. The very very ending seems a bit added on in order to gain a bit more admiration from a certain demographic who might be watching but I’ll let it slide anyway. This is a movie that might not tickle everyone who loves movies where they need to be tickled but I can understand why those who find it favorable could see it that way. The movie managed to get you some tension and toss a few surprises into your direction, more so than I would have expected. Nick Jonas seem to be driving full steam ahead into movie making these days and I think the kid has enough to get by without causing much of a noticeable splotch in anything he’s in. The mofo actually manages to be likable here in the role of a young guy getting his first crash course in women. And what a woman for him to have his first taste of that part of life with. She’s hot enough you almost can forgive his character for any dumb thing he does. Most of us in the situation would have probably done the same.
