Matt and Shelby, a couple from Los Angeles, leave the city and move into a mysterious house in North Carolina, where strange things begin to occur.

It doesn’t take anyone long watching the latest season of American Horror Story (Roanoke) to discover that this season is a lot different than other seasons and I mean that in a good way. We don’t just have a new story, we also have a new format this time around. We have a return of many of the cast members everyone loves, in new roles this time of course. We also toss a few cameos at the viewer that will make fans of this series get all types of giddy with excitement while watching. When you are this deep into a show, it is a great thing to be able to do something to keep the crowd excited and this season did just that. They did seem to cut back a little on the blood this time around, which is about the only real complaint I’d give it. But the creepy factor is still there and it more than carries the show and keeps you interested from the first episode to the finale of the season.

Outside of having a great cast, Roanoke has a very original story and is extremely well written. If you like seeing creepy houses out in the middle of nowhere, then this one delivered in all those areas. I’ve heard people say that this season was the best season of the show since the very first season. While I’d have to really think that one over, I don’t disagree that this season was awesome and probably even topped other horror shows like the latest Walking Dead and Ash vs Evil Dead season 2 in the horror factor. The only horror show of recent times I can think of that could compete with this season of American Horror Story is probably the Exorcist TV show. All in all, this is a bit of a return to form for American Horror Story and I highly recommend everyone, not just fans of the show, check it out.
